Job summary

Preformed Line Products, a leading manufacturer, seeks a Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting for PLP-USA and Corporate operations. You will manage general ledger activities, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, accounts payable, payroll, treasury, and indirect taxes while driving process improvements.

In this role, you will participate in the monthly close, prepare reconciliations, and provide financial analysis to plant management and corporate teams. Travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Three to seven years of general accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
• CPA designation is a plus, but is not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including look-up functions and PivotTables. Strong proficiency with financial ERP applications is required.
• Prior experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial close, and financial systems is preferred.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to produce complete, well-supported accounting work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring close, payroll, tax, and payment deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research differences and drive matters to resolution.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Corporate, plant, tax, treasury, payroll, and accounts payable teams.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and appropriate handling of confidential financial and payroll information.
• Continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Record fixed asset acquisitions and divestitures; maintain fixed asset subledger.
• Prepare intercompany AP/AR entries and resolve differences.
• Prepare and analyze accruals (GRNI, payroll, taxes, benefits).
• Support accounts payable and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare journal entries and monitor daily account activity.
• Assist monthly close for PLP-USA and Corporate operations.
• Prepare reconciliations for cash, PPE, and other assets/liabilities.
• Collaborate with plant management and stakeholders for financial analysis.
• Assist with freight, customs, and duty reporting.
• Participate in ERP upgrades and testing.
• Track state/local sales and use taxes; support indirect tax audits.
• Provide secondary support for ACH, wire payments, and voided payments.
• Identify process improvement opportunities.
