Job summary

SP Industries, Inc., an ATS Company, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the General Ledger across multiple manufacturing divisions. This role contributes to monthly close, maintains accurate records, and prepares journal entries while collaborating with operations, supply chain, finance, and external auditors.

You will work across ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, and other ERPs), perform reconciliations, and help ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• SOX environment experience or public accounting background preferred.
• Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills: Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query.
• Automation/AI tools curiosity and data analysis mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting functions across several divisions in multiple ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, proprietary ERPs).
• Prepare and record accruals, deferrals, intercompany and reclassification journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts; analyze transactions and variances.
• Review transactions for proper accounting treatment; ensure IFRS compliance.
• Execute SOX controls and support internal/external audits.
• Maintain fixed asset ledger including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Analyze financial data related to foreign currency exchanges.
• Assist in financial statement preparation (balance sheet, P&L).
• Participate in ERP system implementations and improvements.
• Identify efficiency improvements and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with departments to support accounting data inquiries and ad hoc reporting.
