Job summary

Select Water Solutions is seeking a Fixed Assets Staff Accountant to handle basic accounting functions and fixed asset entries, with responsibility for assisting financial reporting. The role reports to the Fixed Assets Director in the Region Accounting unit and requires strong GAAP knowledge and detail-oriented accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a documented system of accounting entries.
• Perform monthly and year-end close including journal entries and GL maintenance.
• Prepare financial reports and analyses.
• Coordinate external and internal audits and address discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting vs actual variance explanations.
• Support reporting with regional personnel for timely submissions.
• Ensure internal controls are followed and safeguarded.
• Participate in accounting system upgrades and initiatives.

Job Description

Select's Accountant will be responsible for performing basic accounting functions and various fixed asset types of entries. Additional responsibilities include assisting with financial reporting.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

• Maintain a documented system of accounting entries.
• Perform monthly and year-end closing process including journal entry activity, general ledger maintenance, analysis of financial data, preparation of financial reports, preparation of special reports, and ensure accurate and timely accounting information in accordance with established procedures.
• Account reconciliations prepared on monthly basis and detailed account analysis as assigned.
• Utilize a comprehensive set of controls to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Manage data entry of general ledger.
• Ensure internal controls are followed to protect the Company.
• Preparation of entries into financial system and analyze budget to actual explaining variances.
• Support external and internal audits, coordinate responses and corrective management actions to address discrepancies or noncompliance issues.
• Serving as back-up for key activities as needed.
• Work with regional personnel to ensure timely and accurate reporting of accounting records.
• Handle highly confidential information and material.
• Participate in accounting system upgrades and/or initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or 4 years experience.
• Must possess mathematical skills and ability to produce quality spreadsheets.
• Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and accounting software packages, MS Navision, or MS D365 a plus.
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledgeable in GAAP.
• Must be capable of interacting with all levels of personnel in the organization, as well as third parties.
• Self-starter who is willing to accept responsibility and ownership for their function within the Company.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively, excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and people skills.
• Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines.
• Sarbanes-Oxley experience a plus.

Physical Demands and Exposures

• This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
• Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
