Job summary

Select Water Solutions is seeking a Shop Laborer to safely perform daily shop assignments, including repair, maintenance, serviceability, and record keeping of equipment. You will work with Shop Foreman and Operations Manager to communicate equipment condition and maintenance scheduling for reliable operation.

The role requires loading/unloading materials, reading plans, and assisting craft workers, with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather and long hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret plans, instructions and specifications.
• Ability to work in all types of weather and conditions.
• Must be physically capable of performing duties safely.
• Available for variable schedules and long hours.
• Basic knowledge of oilfield services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them per project plans and specs.
• Tend to pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools and equipment.
• Lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts as needed.
• Clean and prepare construction sites and work areas to reduce hazards.
• Operate hand and power tools and construction equipment as required.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, and temporary structures.

Job Description

Select’s Shop Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently conducting the daily shop assignments; including the repair, maintenance, serviceability, and record keeping of equipment as assigned. This position will work closely with each Shop Foreman or Operations Manager in communicating equipment condition, repair status and equipment maintenance scheduling to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Select Water Solutions assets.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

• Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
• Store and stack material.
• Provide assistance to craft worker.
• Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Tend to pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials.
• Lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Clean tools, equipment, machinery & work areas.
• Perform 'stick-picking', shoveling, compacting and back filling excavations.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Operate power construction equipment, hoist or winch.

Compensation Information

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Exposures

• Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
