Maas Energy Works, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team at our corporate office in Redding, CA.

This role focuses on financial record-keeping, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting for a growing renewable energy development organization. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, plus two years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Two years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize.
• Self-starter mentality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and updating accounting records: recording financial transactions, categorizing them, and ensuring data integrity.
• Preparing financial statements and reports: balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and ad hoc reports.
• Analyzing budgets and creating expense reports: budgeting processes and spending trend analysis.
• Reconciling general ledger accounts: comparing statements with internal records to identify discrepancies.
• Tax preparation and compliance: assist with tax related tasks and deadlines.
• Providing support for audits: assist with documentation and procedures.
• Staying updated on accounting standards and regulations.
• Using accounting software: proficiency in accounting software.
