Job summary

R.T. Moore, a mid-size mechanical contractor, seeks a Staff Accountant to support monthly close, reconciliations, and job cost accounting for residential and multi-family projects.

You will interact with project managers and operations to improve processes and drive cost savings, with a Monday–Friday hybrid schedule at our Indianapolis office. Required are strong communication skills and Excel mastery; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end close and reconciliations is a plus.
• Exposure to construction industry and job cost accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly close to ensure accurate financial results.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Handle job cost accounting for single-family and multi-family projects.
• Manage fixed asset schedule and depreciation entries.
• Support accounts receivable and payable as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers on cost reviews.
• Drive process improvement and cost savings with operations.
• Assist with audit workpapers and ad-hoc projects.
