Job summary

Precision Pipeline Services seeks a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and job-cost reporting. This role collaborates with project management and operations to ensure accurate records.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of accounting experience, a solid GAAP foundation, and strong Excel skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; construction accounting preferred.
• GAAP knowledge and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice review, payment processing, customer billing, and account reconciliation.
• Assist with project and job-cost accounting, including reviewing costs, coding transactions, and identifying discrepancies.
• Assist with Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and provide supporting information for project financial reviews.
• Review project costs and financial activity for accuracy and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and other management reporting.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
• Assist with cash receipts, deposits, and cash-management activities.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation and related reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and requests for financial documentation.
• Work collaboratively with project managers and operational teams to resolve accounting and billing questions.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with improving accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned.
