Job summary

Brilliant® is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support AP, job cost accounting, reconciliations, AR, and general accounting functions. This role will work closely with the Controller and provide support for month-end close, financial reporting, vendor management, and construction-related accounting activities.

Responsibilities include processing vendor invoices by job, maintaining subcontractor compliance, tracking payments and draws, reconciling job costs to the GL, budgeting support,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, job costing, and general accounting principles.
• Experience working with multiple entities and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities

• Process and code approximately 100 vendor invoices per week by job and cost category.
• Maintain subcontractor compliance documentation, including COIs, W-9s, and lien waivers.
• Prepare and track vendor payments and assist with construction draw documentation.
• Maintain accurate job cost records and reconcile job cost reports to the general ledger.
• Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
• Perform approximately 20 monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Track intercompany transactions and ensure accurate recording.
• Process deposits and monitor accounts receivable activity, including buyer payments, capital contributions, and HOA collections.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities.
• Support the Controller with lender reporting and financial package preparation.
