Job summary

GroundSystems, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records. This role combines hands-on accounting work with process improvements to support business decisions and day-to-day operations.

You will work closely with the VP of Administration & Accounting, manage the Accounting & Office Administrator, and help ensure reliable financial records and timely close processes while providing insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Consistent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Manage the Accounting & Office Administrator.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
• Take on other related responsibilities as business needs evolve.
