Job summary

Ledgent is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial accounting and reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and timely close.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 2+ years of experience, and advanced Excel skills. You will collaborate in a fast-paced environment and look for process improvements to add value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years in accounting including GL, reconciliations and close.
• Strong accounting principles and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Analytical, organized, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Process improvement and automation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications and GL adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and balance sheet accounts.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances.
• Review GL activity and identify unusual transactions.
• Assist with revenue and expense analysis and variance reporting.
• Prepare audit support schedules and assist with compliance reporting.
• Support sales tax and other recurring accounting activities.
• Partner with operational teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis.
