Job summary

LHH in Reidsville, NC seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. You will support day-to-day operations and play a key role in monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

The ideal candidate has hands-on general ledger experience, strong reconciliation skills, and a proactive approach to researching discrepancies, with a focus on GAAP compliance and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
• Understanding of GAAP and standard month-end close procedures.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
• Experience with QuickBooks required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Analyze account activity and help identify variances or inconsistencies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements within the accounting department.
