Job summary

Continental is seeking a Staff Accountant in Sterling Heights to join our Accounting team. You will report to Patrick Clancy and participate in month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, helping ensure financial accuracy and timely reporting.

This full-time, on-site role emphasizes collaboration, process improvements, and attention to detail while supporting audits and ad hoc analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience, including internships.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process.
• Support monthly and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Generate ad hoc reports using accounting software.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvements initiatives.
• Respond to information requests and assist with internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with team members inside and outside the department.
