Job summary

Continental Services in Sterling Heights is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the accounting team. The role focuses on the month-end close, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations, while preparing ad hoc reports as needed.

You will work with internal teams to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting experience, proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills, and a proven ability to analyze data with

• Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and organizational skills with a focus on details.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process
• Support monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Perform daily bank reconciliations
• Generate ad hoc reports using accounting software as requested
• Contribute to special projects and process improvements initiatives
• Respond to information requests and assist with internal and external audits
• Collaborate with team members inside and outside the department
