Job summary

Action Resources is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller in ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role involves month-end close, reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team. Transportation and McLeod ERP experience are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• ERP experience (McLeod) preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly financial statements.
• Record and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis on income statement accounts.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Process weekly agent payroll and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial and performance reports for management.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
