Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• 3–5 years accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Transportation experience not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly financial statements with detailed schedules and reconciliations.
• Record and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis on income statement accounts.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Process weekly agent payroll and reconcile discrepancies with agents.
• Assist with external audits by providing documentation.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
