Job summary

Action Environmental is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role covers month-end close, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3–5 years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and the ability to work independently and with a team to drive process improvements and timely financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with McLeod ERP preferred.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly financial statements with detailed schedules.
• Record and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis on income statement accounts.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes as needed.
• Process weekly agent payroll and communicate with agents to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with external audits by preparing documentation.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for management.
• Collaborate with team on process improvements.
