Job summary

CBIZ Talent Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the month-end close, maintain the general ledger, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role focuses on recording transactions, performing reconciliations, and enabling timely reporting of financials.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1–3 years of relevant experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and proficient Excel skills. Occasional travel to corporate events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual basis accounting
• Attention to detail of the highest degree
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems, commercial banking platforms AP/Expense systems and payroll systems
• Limited travel to corporate events to promote engagement and learning for our corporate team members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an intricate knowledge and understanding of GAAP policies
• Prepare and record journal entries to facilitate the month-end close process
• Perform account reconciliations and create adequate support for the balances
• Support the revenue recognition process through invoice creation
• Assist with the external audit process
• Provide recommendations for process improvements through automation, internal controls and other opportunities for efficiency gains
• Participate in special projects and/or ad-hoc analysis needs that arise
