Job summary

StructureX in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a highly organized Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, reconcile accounts, prepare statements, and handle payroll. The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (preferred but not required).
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records for the company.
• Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor invoices.
• Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Handle payroll, including calculating pay, preparing payroll tax returns, and issuing paychecks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws and payroll laws.
• Assist with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with administration and CPA to ensure accurate financial reporting.
