Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.
• Prepare tax workpapers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Perform bookkeeping, payroll, and general accounting services for clients.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, compilations, and review engagements.
• Prepare payroll tax and sales tax filings.
• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Communicate with clients regarding accounting and tax-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with tax deadlines and regulatory requirements.

About the Opportunity

We're partnering with a well-established public accounting firm in the Madison area to hire an experienced Staff Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who holds a CPA license or is CPA-eligible and enjoys working with a diverse client base while gaining exposure to tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement engagements.

The ideal candidate will have 3–4+ years of public accounting experience, strong tax knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

• Prepare and review individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns
