Job summary

Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant in Pasadena, CA. The role focuses on three core month-end areas: expense accruals, fixed assets and lease accounting (ASC 842), and prepaid expenses.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support an on-time close under supervision of senior staff. This position suits someone with 1-2 years of accounting experience who wants hands-on ownership of close processes and exposure to lease accounting at

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
1-2 years of corporate or public accounting experience.
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including accrual accounting and month-end close.
Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting concepts.
Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in an ERP system.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet monthly deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare and book monthly expense accruals for goods and services received but not yet invoiced.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support month-end close.
Book monthly lease journal entries and reconcile LeaseQuery to GL.
Maintain prepaid amortization schedules and review API activity for correct classification.
Assist audits with schedules and documentation; identify close process improvements.
