Job summary

SpyGlass Pharma, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team.

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, focusing on accounts payable processing, vendor management, fixed assets, and general accounting activities. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working with the Senior Accountant & Assistant Controller, this person will support the month-end close and financial statement preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in pharma/biotech or life sciences, or public accounting.
• Hands-on experience with AP processing and general accounting functions.
• Experience with accounting systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; adaptable in a fast-paced growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with accuracy, approvals, support, and GL coding.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and GL coding.
• Review purchase requests and POs for accuracy and GL coding.
• Support company credit card purchases, receipts, and reconciliations.
• Vendor management including setup, maintenance, and inquiries.
• Organize invoices and bills for payment runs (ACH, check, wire).
• Maintain fixed asset schedule and monthly/quarterly/annual confirmations.
• Data entry and ERP data integrity; monitor inputs and records.
• Assist with month-end accruals by ensuring AP is up-to-date and tracking orders/POs.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and amortization.
• Reconcile bank statements and GL accounts; support external audits.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports & analysis; assist budgeting/forecasting.
