Job summary

Andromeda Advantage Inc is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting and billing teams in a collaborative, team-based environment. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, GL expertise, and experience with QuickBooks and Sage.

The position involves handling AP, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and assisting with financial statements in a hybrid office setting with some remote work.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years accounting acumen.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations.
• Construction industry experience highly preferred.
• QuickBooks and Sage experience, General Ledger functionality is a plus.
• Excel knowledge and related products.
• Ability to self-perform all duties with little guidance.
• Multitasking and effective organization/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
• Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors.
• Assist with budget preparation and vendor payments (via checks, ACH, wires).
• Reconcile credit card transactions.
• Assist with bank reconciliations for accuracy.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems.
• Manage petty cash and intercompany transactions.
• Assist in preparing quarterly, mid-year, and year-end financial statements.

Essential Functions

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with Purchasing Department on invoices, purchase orders, and credit card receipts.
• Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors.
• Assist with budget preparation and vendor payments (via checks, ACH, wires).

General Accounting Support

• Reconcile credit card transactions.
• Assist with bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems.
• Manage petty cash accounts and payments.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing quarterly, mid-year, and year-end financial statements.

Qualification

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and construction job costing
• Construction industry experience highly preferred
• QuickBooks, and Sage experience, particularly General Ledger functionality is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office and jobsite setting. The position requires extensive client interfacing and requires rotation between remote and physical work environment. This position uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, ascend/descend and traverse. The position also requires frequent use of computers and other office productivity machinery. At times, duties may involve transporting items of appx. 25 pounds and working around outdoor weather conditions. The position is expected to require prolonged periods of communication, perceiving, and expressing oneself.
