Applied Digital is seeking a highly detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The role focuses on construction-in-progress and fixed assets accounting, ensuring GAAP compliance and supporting month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of general accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across the organization.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting system including tracking construction and Capex activity, booking journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities for accrued liabilities and deposits/prepaids.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting areas.
  • Adhere to internal control processes and policies.
  • Collaborate with auditors by providing documentation during audits.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for management decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in workflows and systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support initiatives.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant who ideally has experience with construction-in-progress and fixed assets accounting to join our Finance team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ASC 360, supporting the month-end close process, and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain financial accuracy and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting principles, analytical skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accounting system including tracking of construction and operational Capex activity, booking journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities related to accrued liabilities and deposits/prepaids
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all assigned financial reporting areas.
  • Adhere to and support internal control processes and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit procedures.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to assist in management decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies within accounting workflows and systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather required financial data and support business initiatives.
  • Stay informed on updates in accounting regulations and industry best practices to maintain expertise in financial reporting standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 - 7 years of general accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements

Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.

Working Conditions

The Company agrees that Employee may work from home part of the of work week provided employee is in good standing, has a continuous secured internet connection, necessary equipment, and is accessible by MS Teams, phone, fax, and email during business hours. (See Telework policy.)

Office Environment

Business office hours, with work hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Some overtime may be required to accomplish timely work demands and meet the company’s professional commitments. Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.

Site Location

We are a 24-hour facility. Work hours (shifts) are assigned as necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions, ensure compliance, and support efficient company operations. Some positions require work at irregular hours (nights/weekends), overtime, alternating shifts, and working in challenging conditions (heat/cold, hazardous environments, loud worksites). Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.
