The position offers a full-time, exempt schedule with opportunities across two entities and multiple ERP systems, focusing on accuracy, asset management, and cost/inventory accounting.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 3-5 years of general accounting experience, including 1-2 years handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Professional Traits: Strong organizational habits, high attention to detail, and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Post and record day-to-day financial transactions and general ledger data.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support monthly closing procedures across multiple companies.
• Oversee fixed assets, support cost and inventory accounting functions, and back up key managerial roles.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and streamline workflows.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and GAAP standards.

Spherion is hiring a Staff Accountant for our client in Vandalia, OH! Join a fast-growing manufacturing team as a Staff Accountant, managing general ledger functions, multi-entity accounting, and month-end closures in a high-impact environment.

Responsibilities:

• Post & Record: Verify, classify, and record day-to-day financial transactions and general ledger data.
• Reconcile & Close: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support monthly closing procedures across multiple companies.
• Manage & Support: Oversee fixed assets, support cost and inventory accounting functions, and serve as backup for key managerial roles.
• Collaborate & Streamline: Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and refine workflows.
• Enforce & Maintain: Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and GAAP standards.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

• Industry Insight: Background working within a manufacturing environment.
• Specialized Knowledge: Prior experience managing Fixed Assets or Costing/Inventory accounting functions.
