Responsibilities

• Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepaid inventory.
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and analysis.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Participate in internal audits, walkthroughs and control testing.
• Assist with fixed assets, depreciation, AP/AR, and general accounting.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and process-improvement projects.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on inventory accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and manufacturing-related accounting activities. This individual will work closely with the accounting team as well as plant and operations personnel, providing valuable exposure to the financial side of a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities (Staff Accountant)

• Perform inventory reconciliations, investigate variances, and support proper inventory valuation
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including prepaid inventory and accrued receipts
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analysis
• Partner with operations and plant personnel to research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Participate in internal audits, walkthroughs, documentation, and control testing
• Assist with fixed assets, depreciation schedules, AP/AR, and other general accounting functions
• Support ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications (Staff Accountant)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1-3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience is a plus
• Understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
