Job summary

Avanto is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting for multiple US-based clients in a remote setup. You will process payments, reconcile accounts, assist with month-end close, and maintain accurate GL records, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

You will work within established processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to a rotating set of client assignments in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis (experience with US companies and QuickBooks is a plus)
• Advanced English (B2-C1 or higher) with fluent speaking/listening for work with US clients and vendors
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with accounting software, with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems
• Proficiency in cash postings and bank reconciliations
• Experience with overdue invoices and collections, or the ability to learn quickly

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile customer payments, invoices, deposits, and credit memos
• Manage vendor bills, payment tracking, and statement reconciliations
• Perform daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Record journal entries and support month-end close activities
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and documentation
• Prepare recurring financial reports on cash, expenses, and receivables
• Support collections and ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding balances
• Assist with inventory accounting and coordinate with cross-functional teams

About the Role

As a Staff Accountant, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations of several US-based clients. You will process and reconcile transactions, keep general ledger records accurate, support month-end close, and communicate directly with customers and vendors. You will work within established processes and checklists, applying sound accounting judgment to review what you process and flag anything that does not look right.

This is a dynamic environment: you will support multiple clients, and your tasks and client assignments will rotate according to the needs of the team.

• Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking, and organization across multiple clients
• Proactive, independent, and open to feedback, with a strong learning mindset
• Two monitors at your workstation
• Exposure to AI tools to support your work is a plus
