Job summary

Slim Chickens is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting for 16 existing restaurants plus two entities. You will lead monthly closes, cash flow, AP/AR, and internal controls while partnering with operations to drive financial insights.

The role is initially remote and will transition to a hybrid setup in the Tulsa metro area. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in restaurant accounting, strong leadership, and experience with QuickBooks Online, multi-location close processes, and evolving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in restaurants or hospitality.
• Strong experience in managing multi-location accounting and close processes.
• Deep understanding of cash flow, AP/AR, and internal controls.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, including postings, reconciliations, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements per policies.
• Daily cash management.

Job description

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting systems and processes for 16 existing restaurants and two additional entities. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can manage the monthly close process, maintain strong financial controls, oversee cash flow and AP/AR, and effectively communicate with operations leaders.

This position is initially fully remote, with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid role once our corporate offices are completed in the Tulsa metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, including daily/weekly posting of general ledger transactions, bank, third-party delivery, and other balance sheet reconciliations, and submission and posting of weekly payroll in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with the company’s accounting policies.
• Daily cash management.
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions weekly.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Partner with operations and leadership on financial insights
• Assist with new restaurant openings and future acquisitions
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax advisors
