Job summary

Slim Chickens | APRESTGROUP is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting for 16 existing restaurants and two additional entities. The role demands hands-on leadership, close oversight of monthly processes, controls, and cash flow, with collaboration across operations.

The position is initially remote with a plan to transition to a hybrid setup in the Tulsa metro area as offices open.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurants or hospitality, utilizing QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Strong experience in managing multi-location accounting and close processes.
• Deep understanding of cash flow, AP/AR, and internal controls.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, including posting of GL transactions, bank reconciliations, and payroll postings.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements per company policies.
• Daily cash management responsibilities.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions weekly.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Partner with operations and leadership on financial insights.
• Assist with new restaurant openings and future acquisitions.
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax advisors.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting systems and processes for 16 existing restaurants and two additional entities. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can manage the monthly close process, maintain strong financial controls, oversee cash flow and AP/AR, and effectively communicate with operations leaders.

This position is initially fully remote, with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid role once our corporate offices are completed in the Tulsa metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, including daily/weekly posting of general ledger transactions, bank, third-party delivery, and other balance sheet reconciliations, and submission and posting of weekly payroll in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with the company’s accounting policies.
• Daily cash management.
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions weekly.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Partner with operations and leadership on financial insights
• Assist with new restaurant openings and future acquisitions
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax advisors
