Troy University is seeking a Staff Accountant to serve as accounting liaison with the Controller’s Office and various departments and external agencies. The role handles financial reporting, tax reporting, and compliance, along with journal entries, audits, and reconciliations.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred) and experience in an academic setting. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with work performed on campus.
The Staff Accountant position acts as accounting liaison with the Controller’s Office and other departments and external agencies with respect to financial reporting, tax reporting & compliance, journal entry preparation, audit/reconciliation of accounts, and audit of requests for payment. The position is responsible for preparing and reviewing all types of transactions in compliance with approved budgets and University/department procedures, preparation of appropriate reports as needed for analysis, corresponding with other departments concerning accounting and financial information, and determining proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ( GAAP ) and approving within designated limits, policies or contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution

1. Masters degree in Accounting
