Staff Accountant / Accounting Specialist

Overview

Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant tosupport a diverse portfolio of business entities with accounting transactions,financial reporting, and analysis. This role plays a vital part in monthlyclosings, budgeting, and supporting operational decision-making with accuratefinancial data.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monthly Reporting

• Prepare and analyze House RouteIncome Statements.
  
• Compare actual performance vs.budget and monitor KPIs.
  
• Distribute monthly financials andassist regional operations with gross margin insights and varianceanalysis.
  
• Lead financial review meetingswith the Senior Director of Sales.
  
• Create billing scorecards forCafé operations and other areas.
  
• Assist with freight billingprocesses and accruals.
  

2. Weekly & Monthly Closings

• Process settlements betweeninternal systems (Xtreme to QuickBooks).
  
• Import ACH payments and manageinvoice intake.
  
• Coordinate invoice approvals withoperations teams.
  
• Submit approved expenses tocorporate Accounts Payable.
  
• Support inventory and physicalvaluation processes.
  
• Prepare financial reportsincluding gross profit and discount summaries.
  
• Handle recurring entries andmaintain balance sheet accounts.
  

3. Forecasting & Budgeting

• Contribute to the development ofannual budgets and forecasts for House Route operations.
  

4. Internal Controls

• Support the documentation andmonitoring of internal controls and compliance standards.
  

5. Systems & Support
