Job summary

Three Guys Master Tradesmen in Clearwater, FL is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position supports daily accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, and assists with the month-end close under the supervision of the Financial Controller.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 1–2 years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• 1–2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to handle large data sets.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Process vendor invoices accurately and maintain vendor records.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting schedules.
• Capitalize fixed assets and intangible assets.
• Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
• Prepare tangible personal property tax filings.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures.
• Support leadership with financial reporting and special projects as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position plays an important role in supporting the company's daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with the month-end close process.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and enjoys solving problems. You'll work closely with our Financial Controller to help strengthen our accounting processes while supporting a fast-growing business.

What You'll Do

Accounts Receivable

• Review and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Ensure invoices are accurate and payments are applied correctly.
• Research and resolve customer account discrepancies.

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Set up and maintain vendor records.
• Manage W-9 documentation.
• Prepare annual 1099 filings.

General Accounting

• Assist with the monthly close process while adhering to established deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting schedules.
• Capitalize fixed assets and intangible assets.
• Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
• Prepare tangible personal property tax filings.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Process Improvement

• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Support leadership with financial reporting and special projects as needed.

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• 1–2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate large data sets and build reports.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred

• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Experience with ServiceTitan.
• Experience in construction, home services, or another skilled trades industry.
• Experience with job costing.
