Job summary

Dometic is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Sparta, TN team. You’ll contribute to a range of accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly reporting within a manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Controller, you’ll help with month-end close, asset records, audits, and AP activities while leveraging ERP systems and advanced Excel skills to drive accurate financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 1+ years' experience with payroll administration and general ledger activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookups, etc.).
• ERP and accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assist with month-end closing activities.
• Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Process Returned Goods Authorization and General Sales Credits.
• Submit required monthly internal and external reporting.
• Maintain financial performance tracking reports by profit center.
• Maintain and update fixed asset records.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Assist with Accounts Payable entries as necessary.
• Assist with commissions and group rebate reporting.
• Assist with annual pricing updates.
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic Marine’s facility in Sparta, TN produces roto-molded fuel and ballast tanks and other roto-molded products for industrial applications. The site also manufactures select marine furniture, aluminum tanks, blow-molded portable tanks, and sanitation systems.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Staff Accountant. This position reports to the Controller and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Staff Accountant of the Sparta team, you will be involved in a variety of finance-related tasks including but not limited to preparing and maintaining accounting records, journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and various internal and external reporting and analysis.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be solid experience within manufacturing and accounting as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance.
• 1+ years of related position experience within manufacturing environment preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
• 1+ years’ experience with payroll administration and general ledger activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, etc.);
• ERP and Accounting Systems experience.
