Dometic in Stuart/Port St Lucie seeks an Accountant/Cost Accountant to support payroll reporting, journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, forecasting, cost accounting and financial reporting for manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with cost accounting in manufacturing, inventory controls, and production variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) and PowerPoint for reporting.
• ERP and accounting system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; support month/quarter/year-end closes.
• Produce weekly forecasts, monthly financial reports, and annual budgets.
• Perform cost accounting: inventory, BOM, labor/overhead allocation, variance reporting.
• Process payroll reports and serve as HR backup during absences.
• Submit monthly reporting in the company reporting system (AARO).
• Prepare tax-related quarterly and annual reporting for tax department.
• Manage A/R entries, weekly sales and backlog reporting, and cash forecasts.
• Maintain fixed asset records and support audits.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements.

Now looking for our next star – a passionate Accountant/Cost Accountant. This position reports to the General Manager and will work in Stuart/Port St Lucie.

About The Position

As Accountant/Cost Accountant in the Stuart/Port St Lucie team, you will be involved in a broad range of financial activities, including payroll reporting, journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, cost accounting and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records while supporting operational and management decision-making.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month/quarter/year-end close activities
• Produce weekly forecasts, monthly financial reports, and annual budgets
• Cost accounting responsibilities including inventory accounting, bill of materials review, labor and overhead allocation, and cost variance reporting
• Process payroll reports and serve as HR backup during planned absences
• Submit required monthly reporting and uploads in company reporting system AARO
• Prepare tax-related quarterly and annual reporting for the tax department
• Manage A/R receipt entries, weekly sales and backlog reporting, and monthly cash forecasts
• Maintain and update fixed asset record
• Support internal and external audits
• Assist with special projects, process improvement and additional duties as assigned

A suitable background would be a

solid experience within Accounting and Manufacturing - as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end close in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with cost accounting principles and practices within a manufacturing environment, including product costing, inventory controls, and production variance analysis
• Strong Excel Skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups)
• Strong Power Point skills including graph creating
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• ERP and accounting system experience required
