Overview

Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years, and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable. We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Accountant. This position reports to Controller and will work in our Litchfield, Illinois office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare and file Sales & Use tax monthly, quarterly and annually
• Review and coding freight & broker transactions and billing
• Handle intercompany accounts payable process
• Process fixed asset and depreciation transactions
• Assist with month/quarter/year-end closing activities (journal entries, reserve calculations, inventory valuation, intercompany reconciliation, etc.)
• Assist with prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Develop and document accounting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Record acquisition, movement, and disposal of fixed assets and track idle assets
• Support audit requests from internal and external auditors
• Complete special projects and assignments as required

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within financial statements and journal entities as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

• Associate's degree in accounting/finance; or equivalent experience
• 2+ years’ related experience and a thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Work experience within manufacturing, distribution preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, etc.)
• ERP and Accounting Systems experience preferred
