Job summary

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. in Savage, Minnesota, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team.

You will participate in the month-end close, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, analyze financial information, and help improve accounting processes and reporting. You will gain hands-on experience with ERP technology and Microsoft Excel while collaborating with experienced professionals on a team that supports operations across RMS locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 0–3 years of accounting experience, internships preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the monthly and year-end financial close process.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Analyze financial information and support special accounting projects.
• Partner with branch personnel to resolve accounting questions.
• Use ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to prepare analyses and strengthen accounting processes.
• Support audits and financial reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
