Job summary

Arrowhead Specialty in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will support the General Ledger Finance Team with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in accordance with established policies.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 1–3 years of GL experience, and proficiency in Excel and MS Office. CPA pursuit and Workday familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in data entry and data management.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills (Teams, Outlook, Word).
• 1–3 years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience (preferred).
• Experience with Workday Financials (preferred).
• Insurance brokerage experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle month-end close functions.
• Run monthly close reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts.
• Generate financial reports and data analytics.
• Coordinate with auditors and ensure supporting documentation.
• Support internal controls and timely filing of documents.

This Staff Accountant positionis responsible forsupporting andassistingthe General Ledger Finance Team in leading and delivering financial accounting results for Arrowhead Specialty Center of Excellence. The role will focus on executing various aspects of financial accounting, including monthly close, preparing journal entries, account analysis, reporting, and account reconciliation activities,in accordance withestablished policy, procedures andobjectives.

How You Will Contribute:

• Perform full-cycle month-end close functions in accounting software systems.
• Run monthly close reporting.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts monthly and as needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts and create financial reports based on data analytics.
• Support and manage interactions with internal and external auditors.
• Ensure all transaction support documentation is processed and filed accurately andin a timely manner.
• Prepare andsubmitrequired documentsin accordance withestablished internal controls.
• Build courteous and effective relationships with office staff tomaintainefficient business practices.
• Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, support, and a positive attitude within the department and office.
• Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverage, technology, and professional development, including continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Pursuing a CPA designation or equivalent certification.(preferred)

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of financial accounting.
• Proficiencyin data entry and data management.
• Strongproficiencyin the Microsoft Office environment, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• One to three years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.(preferred)
• Experience with Workday Financials.(preferred)
• Insurance brokerage experience.(preferred)
