Arrowhead Specialty in St Petersburg, FL is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will lead and support staff accountants, manage full-cycle month-end closes, prepare journal entries, reconcile balances, and assist with audits.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years in general ledger accounting, experience with Workday Financials and insurance brokerage, and a strong command of Excel and data analysis. CPA pursuit is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
• Experience with full-cycle general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in data entry and data management.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Word/Outlook/Teams.
• Four to seven years of GL accounting experience.
• Experience with Workday Financials; insurance brokerage experience preferred.

The role will focus on executing various aspects of financial accounting, including monthly close, preparing journal entries, account analysis, reporting, and account reconciliation activities, in accordance with established policy, procedures and objectives.**How You Will Contribute:*** Lead and support staff accountants.* Perform full-cycle month-end close functions in accounting software systems.* Run monthly close reporting.* Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly journal entries, including reviewing and approving journal entries.* Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts monthly and as needed.* Review and approve balance sheet and bank reconciliations.* Create financial reports based on data analytics.* Support and manage interactions with internal and external auditors.* Ensure all transaction support documentation is processed, maintained, and filed accurately and timely.* Prepare and submit documents as required by established internal controls.* Build courteous and effective relationships with office staff to maintain efficient practices.* Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, support, and a positive attitude within the department and office.* Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverage, technology, and professional development, including continuing education.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Licenses and Certifications:*** Pursuing a CPA designation or equivalent certification.
