Addison Group is partnering with an established organization to identify a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team in Plymouth, MN. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and various financial projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and keen on identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes. The position offers a full-time schedule with traditional benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in general accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing or supporting financial statements preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting activities and assigned month-end close responsibilities, including preparation of financial statements
• Ensure accounting processes are completed accurately, completely, and on schedule
• Provide financial support and respond to accounting questions and requests from internal stakeholders
• Assist with financial reporting and provide support related to financial questions and analysis
• Support year-end audit activities and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Research and analyze variances, unusual transactions, and other accounting discrepancies; communicate findings and assist with resolution
• Identify and recommend process improvements and internal controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall accounting operations
• Assist with other accounting functions as needed to support the team and maintain workflow
• Collaborate with various levels of management and internal teams while providing responsive customer service
• Perform additional accounting and financial projects as assigned
