Job summary

FTS is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in-person in Syracuse, NY. The role supports day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting while maintaining strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, budgeting support, and audits. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 1–4 years of accounting experience are preferred, with a salary range of $65,000–$75,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 2 years of accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and schedules.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
• Support process improvements and other accounting projects as needed.
