Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the Downtown Houston accounting team. The role focuses on general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and accurate financial reporting while balancing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

• 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP/general accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal accounting reports.
• Research and resolve discrepancies and variances.
• Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting.
• Support the accounting team with audit requests and financial analysis.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
