Responsibilities

• Prepare and post routine journal entries including accruals, prepaids, reclasses and other month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support monthly close processes and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy and coordinate corrections with cross-functional partners.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash application activities.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash reporting.
• Maintain supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations and audits.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and ensure control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen controls.
• Partner with finance, operations and purchasing to ensure accurate financial reporting.

As the Staff Accountant for Ovivo Electronics USA & Wastech Systems your primary duties will be to handle General Accounting tasks, inclusive of Bank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Process Improvements, etc.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Prepare and post routine journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and other month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Support the monthly close processes by ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and deadlines are met.
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy, investigate variances, and coordinate corrections with cross-functional partners as needed.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash application activities, including invoice review, coding, and customer/vendor account support.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash reporting, ensuring differences are researched and cleared promptly.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and audit requests in accordance with company policy.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation, explaining account activity, and supporting control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency within recurring close activities.
• Partner with finance, operations, purchasing, and other business teams to research accounting questions and support accurate financial reporting.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Position Details

• The position will be in our Plano, TX location. The position is full-time and non-salaried (hourly).
• The base hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the potential for extended work hours based on the business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe application programs. Ability to learn company standard software.
• Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic knowledge of accounting rules and regulations. Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and prioritize as required. Self-starter and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree from a college or university preferred; however, experience and skills will be considered.
• Experience with Concur, Syteline, or equivalent software
• Ability to apply principles of logic to daily routine practical problems. Ability to make decisions requiring the use of different variables applied to standard situations.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

The pay for this role is $29-$32.50/hr Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
