Job summary

CFS in Orlando, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a large, established corporate accounting team. You will own general ledger tasks, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting, with exposure to broader accounting initiatives.

Candidates should have a bachelor's in accounting or finance and 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems to support audits, budgeting, and system implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience within a general ledger and month-end close environment required.
  • Strong experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and interpret spreadsheets.
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Ability to support accounting deadlines, including additional hours during peak financial reporting periods.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
  • Compile and analyze financial results for assigned areas during month-end close.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end schedules.
  • Research and resolve reconciling items and accounting discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial variances and provide supporting explanations to senior accounting leadership.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger and subledger activity.
  • Assist with preparation of balance sheet and profit and loss reporting.
  • Support annual external audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Assist with budget-related reporting and accounting inquiries.
  • Provide financial information and reporting support during system implementations, audits, budgeting cycles, and other accounting initiatives.
