Job summary

GHJ is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its General Accounting team in Newport Beach. This role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, financial analysis and ledger maintenance, with opportunities to broaden technical skills and collaborate across departments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field and 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and proficiency with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepare supporting schedules and account reconciliations, including prepaid accounts and bank reconciliations.
• Support expense reporting and purchase requisition processes.
• Assist with accounts payable activities as needed.
• Participate in year-end audit preparation and special projects.
• Help improve accounting processes and support accurate financial reporting.
