Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Analyst to provide accounting and analytical support within the Accounting/Finance department. Responsibilities include monthly journal entries, intercompany and consolidation entries, month-end close, and support for audits.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with hospitality industry exposure, and strong Excel/ERP skills to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2 years accounting experience; hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or large ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly general journal entries and support month-end close.
• Prepare intercompany, consolidating and elimination entries.
• Create schedules and analyses for quarterly reviews and audits.
• Apply accounting principles to prepare financial reports.
• Ensure records comply with policies and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Prepare reconciliations for bank and other accounts.
• Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes.
• Record financial information accurately and timely.
• Support management with special projects and process improvements.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide accounting and analytical support to the Accounting/Finance department. Prepare monthly general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to Management during the month end close process.
• Prepare intercompany, consolidating and elimination entries.
• Prepare schedules and analysis in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Apply accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information for preparation of financial reports for month end.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, including prepaid and accruals, for general accounting.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and appropriate recording of financial information.
• Support management with special projects such as the implementation of departmental policies, procedures and controls.
• Perform other job related functions as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field of study or any equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience

EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience in accounting; combined experience in public accounting and the private sector a plus. Hospitality experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Must have strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook
• High level of proficiency in Excel - knowledge of complex formulas and PowerPivot will be a plus
• Experience with PeopleSoft software or large company ERP systems a plusorganizational skills are necessary due to the nature of compiling and retaining detailed information for audits
• Ability to multitask and to work with large volumes of data
• Multi-currency experience is a plus
• Ability to work extra hours during month end close and as needed
