Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/financial systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; highly organized; good written and verbal communication; self-motivated and reliable.
• Experience or internship in accounting/finance; familiarity with financial services, banking, securities, or broker-dealer; interest in FINRA Series 99.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving outstanding items.
• Process and reconcile client deposits and withdrawals in coordination with operations and finance teams.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including A/P and A/R.
• Monitor and reconcile daily cash activity and cash flows in collaboration with other departments.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required information and schedules.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving outstanding items.
• Transaction Processing: Process and reconcile client deposits and withdrawals in coordination with operations and finance teams.
• Financial Reporting Support: Compile and process information for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Cash Management: Monitor and reconcile daily cash activity and cash flows in collaboration with other departments.
• Audit Assistance: Assist with the preparation of financial information and schedules for internal and external audits, responding to inquiries.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; strong understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles and internal controls. This is an early-career accounting professional role.
• Experience: Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with accounting/financial systems.
