Motive Workforce is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join a growing advanced manufacturing organization in Long Beach. This position will support a fast-paced contract manufacturing operation and play a key role across general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, cash management, inventory accounting, and month-end close. The Staff Accountant will work closely with operations, procurement, supply chain, and leadership to maintain accurate financial reporting and strengthen accounting processes and controls. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation along with direct experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, consumer products, or distribution environment.

What You'll Do

• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Maintain the general ledger and perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee full‑cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage 2‑way and 3‑way matching and monitor AP aging.
• Prepare check runs and process ACH and wire payments.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with 1099 reporting.
• Administer and reconcile corporate credit card and employee expense activity.
• Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventory, inventory valuation, reserves, and adjustments.
• Assist with standard cost updates, manufacturing cost analysis, gross margin, and product profitability analysis.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash forecasting and cash‑flow analysis.
• Support internal and external audits and strengthen accounting controls and procedures.
• Participate in ERP implementation, upgrades, testing, and process optimization.
• Partner with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain on accounting and reporting needs.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience within manufacturing, contract manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, consumer products, or distribution.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounts payable processes.
• Experience with check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Experience with employee expense reporting and corporate credit card programs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Experience working with ERP and integrated accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inventory accounting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
• Experience in a high‑volume contract manufacturing environment.

Compensation

$85,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and industry background.
