Job summary

LaSalle Network in Lombard, IL is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join the growing accounting team. The role focuses on reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close within the mortgage banking industry.

This onsite role starts with five days per week, moving to hybrid after training. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 with discretionary bonus eligibility, plus benefits like medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Mortgage industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the accounting department inbox.
• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Assist with month-end close activities (5-day monthly close; approximately 9-day quarterly close).
• Escalate non-routine accounting issues to appropriate team members.
• Support the Senior Accountant with ad hoc projects and reporting requests.
• Utilize accounting tools including Fiserv Prologue and Encompass, Excel, and Power BI.

About The Role

Our client is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build upon their experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities within the mortgage banking industry.

The Junior Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations, assist with month-end close, and work closely with Senior Accounting team members on special projects and ad hoc requests.

Key Responsibilities
