Job summary

Green Lion Search Group seeks a Staff Accountant to support the growing software company’s accounting and finance operations. This role offers broad exposure and ownership of key processes within a fast-paced environment.

The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day activities while collaborating with finance and operations on special projects as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Complete bank, credit card, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Assist with revenue, expense, prepaid, accrual, and fixed-asset accounting
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Help maintain accurate financial records and internal controls
• Support external audits and tax-related requests
• Assist with process improvements and accounting-system initiatives
• Partner with finance and operational teams on special projects as the company continues to grow
