This position provides multiple clients with a broad range of accounting, reconciliation, and compliance-related activities, including financial reporting, workpaper preparation, month-end closes, and client follow-up. Our clients all run different types of businesses, and you'll learn the ins and outs of their unique companies to provide tailored accurate and reliable financial assistance. This includes reconciling accounts and supporting schedules, managing the general ledger, and preparing various financial statements, entries, and accruals. If you identify unreconciled items, discrepancies, abnormal balances, missing transactions, or other accounting issues, you'll research the cause and find a practical solution.
In addition to day-to-day excellence, you'll support future growth by helping develop budgets, track expenditures, and compare projected earnings with actual revenue. Additional responsibilities include assisting with grant accounting, 2 CFR Part 200 financial reviews, payroll/labor cost analysis, and other duties as assigned. The Staff Accountant regularly works within Excel, follows all established accounting procedures, and adjusts accounting processes to fit each client's unique funding structure, financial system, and reporting requirements.
Completing and submitting timely, accurate work, reviewing work to avoid repeated errors, utilizing resources and workpapers before escalating issues, proactively communicating about missing information or potential deadline changes, applying review feedback, demonstrating measurable technical growth and independent understanding, and learning how individual tasks affect each client's finances and broader engagement.
