Job summary

Premier Group is seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant for a full-time role in Landover, MD. You’ll handle multiple clients’ accounting, reconciliations, month-end closes, and financial statements to provide accurate, reliable support.

A bachelor’s in accounting, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and good communication are required; CPA eligibility or pursuit is a plus. 1+ year of experience or internship, QuickBooks Online familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, debits/credits, and financial statements.
• Intermediate Excel, including formulas, filters, lookups, and PivotTables.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting for multiple clients.
• Prepare workpapers, month-end closes, and supporting schedules.
• Research discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with budgets, grant accounting, and payroll analysis.
• Utilize Excel and accounting systems to fit client funding structures.
